And, now for my rant-
Seriously people, WHY is it that people who like Linkin Park are stereotyped as being "emo". I mean, it's ridiculous and fucking stupid if you ask me. I happen to like Linkin Park, but that doesn't mean I'm some depressed loser who takes pleasure in self-mutilation (as is the stereotypical description of "emo" people). I happen to enjoy my life (for the most part, nothing's perfect after all...) and I would never hurt myself in any way for any reason. Just because I or ANY group of people like a certain band/singer and/or a certain musical genre does NOT mean that they are the stereotypical groups of people who are often associated with liking such music. For example, I'm quite sure that NOT every person who loves Country Music is a hillbilly or a cowboy, and that many of them have probably NEVER been to a ranch and/or farm in their entire lives. Similiary, not everyone who is into Hip Hop is a "gangsta" and could easily be some kid growing up in the suburbs. People, you CAN'T judge others based solely on the music they listen to. Linkin Park belong to themselves and whichever record company sells their albums. This stamp belongs to me. |

Linkin Park is more along the lines if "I'm pissed off and I want EVERYONE to know it". That's not "Emo" in any sense of the word.

The worst place where people accuse them of being "emo" is on Youtube. Seriously, you won't believe all the negative comments I've seen regarding AMVs (Fan Videos) using Linkin Park songs. I mean, some of the fan videos are actually quite good. Heck, there's even several great tributes to the Gojira series that use songs by Linkin Park.
